St. John the Baptist in Prison
St. John the Baptist in Prison -

Artist's commentary: The jaws of death encompass John the Baptist in Herod's prison. He is soon to die, his only "crime" is in speaking the truth, proclaiming God's word. He reaches up to the light of the Holy Spirit, symbolized by the white bird. This light cannot be locked out of the darkest cell, if we reach up and ask him to come.
