People are fleeing the City of Man, which is filled with darkness and the fog of confusion. Disaster is about to fall upon it. Many leave the city only to go out into the desolation of radical insecurity, where they are tempted to another kind of darkness. Looking down to the earth alone and to their own resources, they lose hope. Yet some of the people look up, and there they see that rescue is near at hand.
