Toy Bird -

Artist Commentary: A boy holds the carved wooden bird his father has made for him. He is totally absorbed in the gift itself and unaware of the enfolding hands of the giver, who made not only this gift but also the boy's life, nourishing and protecting him as he grows to maturity. The father is content to be hidden, for he is impelled solely by love for the son.
