Artist Commentary: All the malice of fallen human nature is poured out on Jesus, who accepts it as part of the sacrificial offering of the Passion. O Jesus, teach us to remember always the dignity and holiness of the body, and the bodies of others. May we never commit violence or immorality against them; teach us reverence for the human body as a vessel of grace and temple of the Holy Spirit.
