The Nativity - Original: SOLD Artist Commentary: From the very beginning of his life as a man, the saviour of the world knows adversity, poverty, insecurity, hostility. Isaiah prophesies that he will be “a man of sorrows and acquainted with grief.” Born far from home in the most wretched of surroundings, hunted by the powerful who wish to destroy him, this holy child is the light of the world, and “the darkness cannot overcome it.” May God give us the grace of love for the poor, detachment from riches, and a desire for perfect trust in divine providence. | |||||
